Forward March, Inc. in the News

As we get closer to the opening of the first floor of the American Legion in December, it’s fun to look back at the beginning of the American Legion Legacy Project and remember how far we have come. Here is a look back at some of the local publications that featured stories about the American Legion Post 37 and historic Hamblen property restoration.

High Heels and Hard Hats Fundraiser

On June 14, 2016, Forward March hosted High Heels and Hard Hats at the Historic Hamblen House to raise funds for the Legion Legacy Project. The event was an opportunity to showcase the progress of the restoration of the Historic Hamblen House, which American Legion Post 37 calls home.

Community members and leaders came together for an evening of fellowship and fundraising.

High Heels and Hard Hats attendees were given special passports which listed locations inside the historic building and were encouraged to visit each area for a stamp.

Restoration Update 6/9/14

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Major construction is underway. Forrest Builders have been hard at work as many of you may have seen walking around downtown. They have successfully removed the balcony and boarded up the construction area so it is away from the public inside the Legion. The stairwells are also in the process of being ripped up and reconstructed.

More to come.
